Exhibition at Blackstaff Mill, Belfast - "Rise"

Sunday 21st December 2014

Having moved back to Belfast, Northern Ireland over the summer from the Middle East, I have had the wonderful opportunity of exhibiting 27 artworks in acrylic and mixed media at the Old Blackstaff Linen Mill, in a loft space tucked away in the heart of the building.

This is my first exhibition as a self-taught intuitive artist and I am exploring the questions:
What do you mean I have an inner life?
How does that affect my outer life?
What impact does painting intuitively in situ have?

Artist Statement
I create paintings that remind people of the full, rich, colourful spectrum of their inner worlds and give them the courage and permission to embody all of it - even the dark parts.

In the Spirit of Exploration

Thursday, 4 April 2013

Over the past three years I have become very interested in exploring Intuitive Art.  At first I wondered what this meant... Art is something I have always loved but as with most people, thought I had to have a talent, but to discover that you can explore with all colours, different mediums and mixed media was like going into a sweet shop as a little kid and wanting a bit of all of it!

To realise that you just have to start, that the brush will actually lead you if you let it, to drop all judgements about what it is going to look like and then most of all to learn to be disciplined enough to just do it every day.

I would like to use this blog to document pictures, share pictures and stories and books and anything that would stimulate creativity from the inside.

First I would like to post some paintings to where the journey has reached so far.
